Heavenly Pork at Famous Seremban Favourites

First off, there is no dish called “Heavenly Pork”. It’s just that my friends and I ordered different types of pork. If I’d write in everything we ordered in the post title, that would be the longest post title you’d ever see! If you are looking for the best char siew (barbecued pork) in town, all you need is a car and no fear that your cholesterol level will skyrocket through the roof! Oh, as always, don’t forget to bring your wallet and possibly us! Make your way to “Famous Seremban Favourites” at Aman Suria, Damansara. You thought it was going to be at Seremban didn’t you? Be there before 2 PM or you will have no table to sit! (avoid lunch time at all costs!) Oh, don’t forget to be mesmerized by the sheer amount of Char Siew hanging from the stall!

We had char siew for two, siu yok (roasted pork) for one, pork balls soup (6pcs), a large bowl of hakka mee and two servings of ginger rice (we had three people with us) for only RM26.70. I wouldn’t say that’s an expensive price to pay for lunch for three!

We specified the char siew to be pun fei sau (50% lean and 50% fat. Blame Nicholas). Even though it was extremely unhealthy, it was definitely worthwhile (just don’t consume it everyday, okay??). The char siew just melts in your mouth! It won’t melt like ice in your mouth of course, but the meat is very soft and the sauce that accompanies it simply enhances its taste!

The pork balls soup was fine. I have nothing much to comment on it. Rest assured it doesn’t taste bad! If you still want a comment out from me, fine! It tasted normal! xD I guess I had too much of the char siew to taste the pork balls. Oh wait, did I mention that they are handmade?

The siu yok was crispy yet soft – Nicholas Wong. I’m not a fan of siu yok but I got to say that it was nice! Don’t forget to eat your cucumbers kids!

The hakka mee look quite bland but don’t be fooled by its looks! I was told by Nicholas Wong that they use white soy sauce instead of the usual black soy sauce. The char siew goes well with it! The ginger rice was nothing less compared to the rest too! It was nice. I loved it!

If you must know, the owner of the restaurant, Mr. Bill is a MBA holder. They are closed on Tuesday. Their main selling dish is the char siew. The address can be found below.

Ratings, ratings! I give my whole experience a 4/5. It missed the 5/5 mark due to the environment! The floor is oily and service is a little bad (maybe they can afford to do so because the business is thriving!). It is not that I am fussy but rather just trying to be critical here. Ha ha! Bon Apetite! =P
