Desserts at Happy Beans, Taipan

If you want to savour a cold and refreshing dessert, never ever have it at Happy Beans. It is not worth your money at all. Drive a little further to Snowflakes, SS15. I have no idea why Happy Beans could still survive. Different preference perhaps? Or maybe the customers haven’t been exposed to heavenly desserts yet!
The bowl above is categorized under the “Hand Make Yu Yuan”. No, I did not make the grammatical error. It is printed on the menu. From the six selections, the fourth selection was chosen – Pearl + Red Bean + Yam. I highly doubt there are any brownie points for it. The Yam was hard, the sweet potato and taro were rubbery, as though as made from rubber! It was bad, big time. The pearls were fine but the red bean, tasteless. The only taste it had was from the sweet syrup.
If the taste isn’t bad enough, paying RM 5.00 for a bowl is worse! You can get better elsewhere! I give it a 1/5. I would have given it a 0/5, really.

The second bowl of dessert is categorised under “Smoothie Cin Cau”. Again, it is a far cry from Snowflake! However, it is much better and edible compared to the previous dessert. My toppings were the same, red beans, yam and pearls. The comments are the same. The difference is that the Smoothie Cin Cau comes with ice shavings while the Hand Made Yu Yuan was more of a “soup”. Again, the sweet syrup gave most of its taste.
A bowl is RM 5.00. I give it a 2/5. That’s already being very generous.
Happy Beans? Meh, untasty beans!
